As to start the year off I want to say my major accomplishment for 2009 was graduating college. I in no way will be downplaying that fact. I worked hard and diligent at getting to that goal and I am very proud of myself because I did not quit when things got hard.
This year...2010...I would like to re-dedicate myself in my mind and heart to the goals that I set forth this year. I have been a little distracted from the bigger picture to take care of more immediate needs, but now I want to refocus my energy.
Here it goes...
Educationally=Long Term=get my doctorate. Work on getting myself set as a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Clinical (LCSW-C) specializing in mental health, sub specializing in Substance Abuse Counseling, and getting Certified in Holistic Health Care...become a Psychotherapist. Short Term=APPLY TO GRAD SCHOOL. Finish the Photography certificate I started by taking the class that I am missing.
Career=Try my best to work with people who have disabilities and eventually work for the Department of Veterans Affairs counseling returned vets. Start a non-profit by working with Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore. GET A JOB.
Physically=long term=keep on trying to better my heath daily by my actions and actually accomplish running, jogging, walking a half marathon. Short term=use the knowledge that I have by making sure I eat good, take my vitamins, walk/run 2-5 miles a day, try to bike more often, swim on a regular basis, meditate, and use the breathing techniques and stretching that I have learned. IMPROVE MY OVERALL HEALTH.
Mentally=long and short term=make sure I take time for myself to stop and smell the roses, make sure I do not over schedule myself, and make sure I treat myself kindly. BE NICE TO MYSELF...I AM NOT PERFECT AND THAT IS OK AS LONG AS I AM TRYING TO DO MY BEST IN ALL THINGS.
Socially=long and short term=maintain and cultivate friendships and relationships with the people I know and meet. This includes being able to open up to them and continually working on communication. DON'T BECOME A HERMIT...DON'T SNUFF YOUR INNER SOCIAL BUTTERFLY.
Family=long term=start a family with an amazing man, who will treat me kindly, is not abusive, does not cheat, and who shares the same goal of creating a happy, loving, healthy, stable family environment and home. short term=maintain and cultivate relationships. This includes being able to open up to my family, continually working on communication with them, as well as showing and telling them how much I love them. LOVE MY FAMILY DAILY.
Spiritually=long term=prepare myself in every aspect to be worthy to receive the things I desire. Short term=make sure I do the basics (praying, reading scriptures, going to church, doing my church callings, writing in my journal) . READ THE BIBLE FROM COVER TO COVER STARTING WITH THE OLD TESTAMENT. Find tools and ways to help me to understand the scriptures better.
